Loch Ness Adventure

By 2nd December 2020Latest News

Many of you have been following our recent ‘adventure’ on Loch Ness with interest and supported those members of our crews, led by Garry Short, who have worked so hard to get our beloved Catalina Miss Pick Up ready for the long journey home from Scotland to Duxford.

There have been many people involved in the operation in Scotland but also behind the scenes too –  and everyone has given what they can. One of  our great supporters, Jason Hall of Jason Hall Art, has kindly in the past  contributed some wonderful cartoons of Miss Pick Up and given us permission to use these on our merchandise. When Jason was approached by Liz Head of The Catalina Society seeking to commission a cartoon of this escapade  he immediately and kindly offered to draw us something as a contribution… the two worked together on an idea and we are very pleased to launch the result today.

Below is the finished cartoon which we have entitled: Loch Ness Adventure. We hope that it encapsulates a lonely and ‘slightly scared’ Catalina, abandoned on the Loch feeling forlorn… and then guess who turns up to give her a  bit of support when all the ‘humans’ had gone? This cartoon is now available to purchase via our website on mugs, coasters, money boxes, fridge magnets and metal key rings.

We would like to thank Jason for his hard work and contribution, the rest of The Catalina Society merchandising team and also Gary at GDMK Images too for turning round this project so quickly.

Check out The Catalina Society Facebook Group to learn about how it unfolded.

We are also hoping to get some high quality greeting cards produced and available in the very near future also showing this design and one other.
