Welcome to The Catalina Society Web Site

The Catalina Society is the supporters club for the PBY5A Catalina

Our aim is to keep this beautiful old flying boat airworthy for many years to come. By forming the society, we have brought together people who share our aim. But more importantly, you will be joining a dedicated group of enthusiasts who can proudly associate themselves with their aircraft.

Venue: Duxford
Description: Pack-up your hampers and picnic rugs as the ever popular ‘Flying Proms’ Concert returns to the Duxford Imperial War Museum on Saturday 19 July, in association with the UK’s premium ice cream specialist, Carte D’Or – as part of a national 2008 Summer Proms and Smooth series.

2008 reveals a tribute to our American allies with thrilling choreographed air displays to music. Aircraft taking to the skies include an F-86 Sabre jet, Spitfire, Piper L4 Cub Pair, Helicopter aerobatics DC3 Dakota, P-51 Mustang, US Stearman Biplane Duo (with wing walkers & smoke trailing display). The evening starts to get you ‘In The Mood’ with a big band performance of Glenn Miller classics by the legendary John Miller and his Orchestra.
